The highest peak in South America, Cerro Aconcagua is also one of the seven peaks of the planet.Together with Extreme Travel guides, in a shift of 22 days we will climb Aconcagua peak and also will explore Argentine pampas beauty. We will follow the classic route: Guardaparque - Horcones 2950m - Confluence camp - Plaza Francia Plaza de Mulas .- 4.000m - the Condores camp Nido - Camp Berlin 5.930m - Piedras Blancas 6050m - Refugio Independencia - Cerro Aconcagua 6962m THE TRIP Day 1-2. Flight to Santiago de Chile-Mendoza.
Day 3 Travel by coach (approx. 3 hours) to Penitentes (2700m) or Puente del Inca (2900m), on the road that crosses the Andes to Chile. Accommodation at the lodge.
Day 4 Join in "Parque Provincial Aconcagua" Presentation at Guardaparque Horcones 2950m - checking documents and ... Suerte! (Noroc!) Horcones valley Andes to the first destination, camp Confluence. After 15 minutes in front is shaped peak is Aconcagua ... overwhelming ... the "only" 4000m above! After about 4h we arrive at camp Confluence (3300m). Accommodation in tents campaign already installed. Free program and dinner.
Day 5 Breakfast, departure to Plaza Francia acclimatization shift 4.000m. It follows the valley bottom and about Horcones. 4:00 arrive at a place called Plaza Francia where we can admire a display of impressive 3000m vertical "southern front" tip of Aconcagua! From here starts the most difficult routes to the top, accessible only to very experienced climbers. After a 4 hour descent reantoarcem us to Confluence, followed by dinner deserved rest for the next day a new challenge awaits us! Day 6 Breakfast, departure to Plaza de Mulas. Pursue higher Horcones Valley desert area dotted with boulders and volcanic rock. We serve a small snack after a journey Ibanez Piedra total of about 8-10 hours to reach "advanced base camp" - Plaza de Mulas 4.300m. Accommodation in tents campaign (optional at Chalet "Il Refugio".
Visit to the "Servicio Medico" (medical service) where a medical team consisting of controls make checks lung, heart and check "saturation" of oxygen in the blood, an indicator of the degree of acclimatization.
Day 7 We begin acclimatization program. After breakfast climb to about 4500m higher Horcones Glacier where you can enjoy ice formations specific to this area - "los penitents." Medical visit.
Day 8 Also for acclimatization we climb on top Bonnets (4920m).
Day 9 We climb to Camp Alaska 5.350m with some of the equipment, installs tents, 7-9 hours round-trip.
Day 10 We climb back to camp with the rest of Alaska about 4-5 hours of equipment, bivouac organization, preparing meals and served tea to Primus for the day. From here we have a superb view of the tip, which seems very close (but there are 2600m level difference).
Day 11 Strange tent and equipment and leave the rest to Camp Berlin. Pass near the camp of Condores Nido after 6-7 hours to reach Camp Berlin 5.930m. The view is magnificent! Install light weight tents, tea, preparing for the big test!
Day 12 Wake up at 5, starting at around 6 to starlight. Piedras Blancas 6050m passes by, we arrive at Refugio Independencia 6350 where we make a break for tea and where we mount coltarii. Go on get in the place called "La Cueva" 6.650m underlying "Canalettei" The last stop long before "assault." After 7-9 hours of departure will be on the roof of America - Cerro Aconcagua (6962m)!
After we take pictures of the summit follows that lasts 4-5 hours descent back to Camp Berlin. Dinner, tea and deserved rest.
Day13 Breakfast, pack the equipment in about 5-6 hours we will get back to Plaza de Mulas Dinner at the Chalet "Il Refugio" Plaza de Mulas camp near.
Day 14 Breakfast, descend in about 6-8 hours and there Horcones Guardaparque Puente del Inca to.
* Day 15 to 16 more in case of bad weather or acclimatization problems. If everything goes according to plan, we will visit Santiago de Chile capiatala and go to Vini del Mar beach.
Day 17-18 Santiago de Chile- - home.
